As is the case with your older iPhone or Galaxy devices the rugged S80 is ready to retire. As new models are released it is common for manufacturers to retire older models. The S80 manufacturer has recently ended support for the device which means parts and accessories are no longer manufactured.

What does End of Life mean?

End of Life Definition – End of Life is usually a formal communication from a manufacturer that no further support will be provided for hardware or software sold by that manufacturer. For mobile devices an EoL notification usually occur 2-4 years after the device is no longer manufactured.

What does that mean for S80 users?

You can continue to use your S80. It will remain on Android 8.1 and we will support it as long as security updates continue for that version of Android. X-1 has acquired a good deal of common replacement parts that will allow us to continue support repairs to existing devices while supplies last.

What happens if the part I need is no longer available or my S80 dies?

X-1 is always testing the best rugged hardware available. The current replacement for the S80 is the X-1 SinglePoint S97 Pro.
