Did the totalizer on your meter reset?

Don't panic... it is easy to fix and only impacts the totalizer value

Why does it happen?

There is a known issue when two actions happen at the same precise time that creates a fault that resets the totalizer. This issue is rare and tends to happen under very specific circumstances when the X-1 Cloud Connect attempts to set fueling data on the register simultaneously with the fueler pressing start or other keys on the register, and the register is accessing the counter memory.

This situation often occurs when the X-1 Cloud Connect sets a delivery in the register immediately after startup, usually due to a message sent from SP during the register's startup, which is then applied as soon as the register enters an idle state.

Newer versions of the TCS 3000 (Gen 2) and are less susceptible to this fault and we have made changes on the X-1 Cloud Connect firmware to reduce the probability of happening.

What does it do?

It is important to note that the reset ONLY impacts the totalizer value. It will not impact the fueling, the fueling the fault occurred on will start at zero. You can accept a skip in the fuel reports and continue with no issues. There is a method to update the totalizer value if you are willing to break the seal on the meter. Again, this is not required. The totalizer reset has no impact on registers settings for Weights and Measures.

Can we prevent it?

We strongly recommend the users accept the fueling on the X-1 SinglePoint device and wait for the "Meters ready" message. (This will help the system to match the tickets with the correct operations)

Still want to revert your totalizer?

You will have to break the seal on your register as mentioned above and follow these menu prompts. Before you start this process before to end the Active Shift on the register.

  1. Press Shift + Mode

  2. System Menu

  3. W&M settings

  4. Reset Totalizer

  5. System Totalizer

  6. Set Value
