How to Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft for X-1FBO

Written by Amanda

What is it?

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to access multiple applications using one set of credentials, such as their Microsoft Office login. This eliminates the need to manage multiple usernames and passwords across systems.

Enabling SSO with Microsoft in X-1FBO provides a more secure and streamlined login experience, improving both user convenience and overall security.

Who Can Set This Up?

SSO setup requires administrative access to both X-1FBO and Microsoft Office 365.

If you’re not an administrator, please share this guide with your IT admin or the person responsible for user management in your organization. You can also contact our Support team via the chat bubble for assistance.

Why use SSO?

  • Simplified access
Log in once and access all integrated systems without re-entering credentials.

  • Improved security
Authentication is managed through Microsoft, reducing password risks and improving control.

  • Easier management
Less time spent on password resets and user access issues.

How to set it up

1. Enable Microsoft login in X-1FBO

Before starting, confirm that your Microsoft Admin has configured your Office 365 tenant.

In X-1FBO:

  • Go to FBO Settings > FBO Profile

  • Locate and enable “Enable Sign-In with Microsoft”

Save your changes, then log out and back in

2. Configure the admin user

  • Go to FBO Profile > Users

  • Create (or update) the user for your Microsoft Admin account

  • Enable “Activate login with Microsoft” in the user profile

Note: The username must match the Microsoft email address.

3. Sign in with Microsoft

  • Log in to X-1FBO using the Microsoft sign-in option

  • Enter your Microsoft Office credentials

Important:
The Microsoft Office 365 Admin must complete the first login and grant permissions to GMSTEK X-1FBO. This step authorizes the domain.

Once this is completed, all other users enabled for Microsoft login will be able to sign in using their Microsoft accounts.
