X-1PAY Direct Debit allows you to securely collect ACH payments (bank transfers) from customers directly through X-1PAY.
Getting Started with X-1 Direct Debit
To begin, reach out to the X-1FBO team for guidance through the X-1PAY Direct Debit application process. Our team is here to support you every step of the way.
Because the application grants access to all retail payment methods, it's important that you contact support first so we can ensure you’re set up specifically for ACH payments. We’ll provide the appropriate link and, once credentials are received, configure your account for Direct Debit only.
✅ Once You're Set Up
Once your X-1FBO environment has X-1PAY Direct Debit credentials enabled, you’ll have two ways to accept payments:
1. Requesting to Save a Bank Account on File
You can ask a customer to securely save their bank account to their profile for future payments.
Here’s how:
Go to the customer’s profile and click X-1PAY Direct Debit.
Select “Request New Payment Authorization.”
The customer will receive a secure link to fill out their bank information.
Once completed, their bank account will be saved to their profile.
To process a payment, select X-1PAY Direct Debit as the payment method on the invoice and choose the saved account.
2. Requesting a One-Time Payment via Email
This option allows a customer to pay a single invoice by entering their bank info through a secure link.
Steps:
On the invoice, select X-1PAY Direct Debit as the payment method.
Move the invoice to Ready.
In the Actions dropdown, select “Payment by Email.”
X-1 will display the customer’s saved email addresses, or you can enter a different one.
The customer receives an email with the invoice and a link to enter their bank details.
Once submitted:
The customer receives a confirmation email with the ACH agreement.
The invoice is marked as Done once the payment is processed.
You can view the invoice under Accounting > Invoice > Done tab.
📋 Things to Know About Voids & Refunds
Voids: You can void a transaction before the X-1PAY Capture batch settles, which happens at 11:00 PM EST.
Refunds: Can only be processed after the funds have been deposited into your FBO’s bank account. We recommend waiting 2 business days to ensure the customer’s bank has completed the transfer before initiating a refund.
📊 Things to Know About Transaction Settlement and Payout Reports
ACH transactions processed through X-1PAY follow a similar flow to credit card transactions. The system captures these transactions through a batch job, just like it does for manual credit card payments when retail cards are processed via X-1PAY.
The processor debits the customer’s bank account on the next business day. Once the funds are withdrawn, the FBO receives payment within two business days, mirroring standard credit card settlement timelines.
If you're processing both ACH and credit card payments through X-1PAY, your ACH transactions will be included in the same payout report. Otherwise, a separate payout report for X1PAY Direct Debit transactions will be available in X-1FBO under Accounting > Receivables > X-1PAY Disbursement and will also be automatically emailed to the designated user(s).
Note: Access to the X1PAY Disbursement section requires the appropriate user role to be granted.
X-1PAY Direct Debit offers a simple and secure way to collect ACH payments directly through X-1.
