Managing user access in X-1 is simple and fully customizable, thanks to our flexible Roles and Permissions structure. This article explains how roles define what users can do in the system, and how permissions control access to specific features and actions.
Note: This article applies to the X-1 Desktop platform. Permissions shown here do not apply to the SinglePoint device, which includes a standardized feature set designed to meet the operational needs of Line Service Technicians.
If you don’t see FBO Settings > User > Roles in your menu, please contact your system administrator for access.
Roles
In X-1, a role is an assigned title that determines what a user can access and perform within the system. Admins—who have the highest level of access—can create and manage roles to suit their operation's needs.
Each role includes a customizable set of permissions. By enabling or disabling specific permissions, you control what users assigned to that role can do—ensuring they have access only to the tools relevant to their responsibilities.
Permissions
Every menu and sub-menu in the X-1 system includes a set of permissions that determine what users can view and do within that screen. The most common permissions you'll encounter are Read, Write, and Delete—these are referred to as general permissions.
In addition, some menus and sub-menus offer more specific permissions tailored to the functions of that area, allowing for more precise control over user access.
Example:
In the Invoice sub-menu, beyond the general Read, Write, and Delete permissions, users may also be granted permissions to void payments, issue refunds, or apply discounts.
